biography Born as Peter Maksimov on April 10, 1994, to teenage parents, he was given up in a closed adoption as an infant and would become young Theodore Soriano; the final child in the marriage between Frank and Milena Soriano, with a brother fourteen years his senior. Growing up with a much older brother proved to be challenging for Teddy as he quickly found out in his early years that no matter his accomplishments in school or in sports, he would somehow never live up to the expectations Leo had set ahead of him. If he managed to get an academic or baseball award, he was consistently chasing the ghost of Leo’s records in the eyes of Milena. However, that never seemed to affect the relationship between the boys. Teddy hung onto every word of his brothers stories and always relied on him when he needed advice.

When Frank and Milena divorced as a result of Frank’s infidelity, Theodore would eventually choose living with his adoptive father due to the constant pressure put on him by Milena. Still, he did try and maintain a relationship with his mom by stopping by after school or staying with her on weekends. Home life for him after the divorced managed to remain relatively normal despite their mother’s renewed love in religion at the nearby Catholic Church. He would eventually begin juggling bible study and Sunday services with his schooling, athletic schedule and social life. As Teddy entered high school, he would go on to be a student that excelled quietly in his studies while participating in soccer and baseball for school. As he grew comfortable in his own skin, the Boston native would start expanding his social circle by his sophomore year in high school, quickly becoming not only one of the most popular kids in school but also one of the smartest.

When it came time to pick his college of choice, Teddy decided on a school across the country at Stanford University. After failing to walk at his own high school graduation in favor of being in Leo’s wedding; he’d made the decision that it was time to get out from under the shadow of Leo and be his own person. Living life in the Bay Area, he quickly became a more confident person and believed in himself for the first time in his life. Just as he had back home, Teddy supported his adventures and life by juggling his classwork and social life with a job at a mom and pop garage just down the street from his apartment and used his share of income to fund his summer cross country road trips. As he found his groove and declared his major in engineering, he would also go on to declare a minor in history.

During a road trip to Oregon in the summer of 2015, his life would take several steps backwards after a car accident along I-5 that left him in the hospital for a week after having a spinal fusion surgery. The accident would land up sidelining Teddy for several weeks even after his release as he was laid up in bed with severe pain from the surgery. Going through rehabilitation for his back did little to help him, both mentally and emotionally, as he entered a depression shortly after the accident .

With the help of his brother, Teddy began to attend regular private and group therapy sessions as he put his first real effort into bettering himself and getting back on track. Three years after the accident, his goals in life are finally back on track as he works on finishing his education at Stanford and earning his Bachelors of Science in Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineerings.
